'Aircraft Illustrated Extra' was launched in mid 1969 as a companion to the monthly 'Aircraft Illustrated'. Each issue contained 4-5 articles on a (usually military) single theme, 3-4 full-page color photos of aircraft types not related to the main theme, and a short photo feature with miscellaneous b+w photos. Roughly A5 size magazine with 48 pages, many b+w photos, 3-4 color photos. The articles were somewhat longer than normally found in the monthly magazine. Only 16 issues published. Replaced by 'Air Extra'.
