'Skyways' was launched circa November 1942, mainly covering US air power in WW2. By July 1947 it had become 'Flying Sportsman and Skyways' with 80 pages in each issue and mainly focusing on light aircraft. By April 1948 it had reverted to 'Skyways' with the subtitle 'Military - Civil - Commercial Aviation' and typically comprised 64 pages covering a broad range of topics. By January 1953 the magazine had become the official publication of the Corporate Aircraft Owners Assn. (later the NBAA), and devoted much of space to the growing market for business aircraft.
